My Activity Tracking
My target 295000 Steps
I’m taking part in the Walk in Her Name Step Challenge in aid of Ovarian Cancer Action.
I am doing this in memory of my wife Carol who died of this disease in March last year, exactly one year from diagnosis. Like so many, OC was only diagnosed at Stage 4 and she was BRCA-negative and platinum resistant. She was looked after magnificently by the Marsden, but still the main treatment programme is decades old, and no screening test is available. Every year, 295,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer globally. Approximately half of these women, like Carol, will not survive beyond five years. I’m taking 295,000 steps in May to raise funds for life-saving research that will help these women, and the next generation, survive.
Please help me take 295,000 steps, raise £295 and move research forward. #stepforeverywoman
Thank you!!!Monday 8th Jun Well, the month is done as are the steps - over 500,000 as it turns out! More to the point, thanks to your generosity, £707 will go to the OCA appeal. I just looked, and the total raised is now very close to the £29,500 target.
